When you’re invited to interact with this mural, begin by using the NFC sensor on your phone. Most modern smartphones have NFC enabled by default. Simply unlock your phone and gently hold it close to the smart plaque or designated NFC symbol—no app or scanning is required. Within a moment, your phone will open a link that connects you to the mural’s digital layer.

tip: the mural’s plaque is equipped with NFC technology and a great place to practice your NFC scanning if you are just getting started with things.

As you explore the mural itself, you’ll notice that certain painted areas have subtle textures added on top of the surface. These textures are intentional and serve as tactile markers for interactive zones. Running your hand lightly across the mural can help you discover these areas, inviting touch as part of the experience rather than viewing alone.

Each interactive area is connected to personal digital content created by the family who lives here. When activated, these points reveal short videos that have been intentionally paired with specific parts of the artwork. The videos may capture everyday moments, celebrations, reflections, or memories tied to the space and the people within it.

Together, the physical mural and its digital content form an evolving artistic video journal. The artwork becomes more than a static image—it’s a living archive of personal stories layered into the home itself. As you interact, you’re not just viewing art; you’re stepping into a shared, intimate narrative shaped by time, memory, and place.
