St Pete neighborhoods pilot
In February of 2021 PixelStix will begin the pilot of ‘St Pete Neighborhoods’ with one participating neighborhood at no cost for 3 to 6 months. Below is a list of how the pilot will work, expectations of the participating neighborhood and goals that we hope to accomplish. Of course, given that it’s a pilot things are always subject to slight changes as we learn what is working and what isn’t. If you think your neighborhood is a great fit for this pilot, please contact matthew@pixelstix.com.
how to participate?
- Participating neighborhood to identify and document at least 9 engaging stories and locations within the neighborhood that have cultural or historical significance, (PixelStix is happy to host the content on their servers for the pilot).
- Each month PixelStix will choose 3 stories to program into the tour and install a neighborhood marker at each location accessible via the sidewalk. Of course this means that permission will need to be granted by the property owner.
- The neighborhood tour map will be updated in the PixelStix app so that there is a new tour for people to take often. As with the murals, residents or neighborhood visitors can take the tour by car, bike or by foot.
- PixelStix will provide the neighborhood with 8 'St Pete Neighborhood' cups made for neighborhood residents. Touching a phone with the cup will reveal the locations of each marker programmed with a story from the neighborhood.
- PixelStix will experiment how to present the content to people that take the tours from month to month. It may just remain as written text on a web page, or may be in audio form or even acted out in video form.
- Participating neighborhood to allow us to interview people that use the cups every month so that we can incorporate ideas based on the experience from tour-takers.
- Lastly, PixelStix will provide the neighborhood with a login to the Admin Portal allowing them to review the analytics from the tours.
Goals of the pilot
- Provide a fun new way for existing residents to engage with their neighborhood.
- Bring awareness and foot traffic from outside the neighborhood.
- Understand how the analytics from the neighborhood tours benefit the neighborhood in reaching financial support (or other) goals.
